| Page 1 of 7 With a revolutionary new approach to modelling, and groundbreaking multi-CAD support, Al Dean asks could SpaceClaim be the future of product development?
A round has been added to a casting and is dynamically dragged and dropped into position.
Those that follow the MCAD industry will know that there's a new kid on the block - SpaceClaim - but for those that don't have the time or inclination to follow the ins and outs of how these systems are developed, let's look at its heritage and see where the application has come from first. SpaceClaim has been the most talked about new product in this sector for quite some time, ever since the word started to spread that Mike Payne was starting a new company, there has been much talk about this new system. Mike Payne, for those unaware of his history, was one of the founders of PTC and architect of Pro/Engineer as well as being a founder of SolidWorks, quite the track record, I'm sure you'll agree. Along with Mr. Payne, SpaceClaim's team is filled with luminaries and investors that have been behind many of the products that we now consider to be industry standard within Product Development circles. " It takes a new player, with new, fresh ideas, to shake things up, and if there's a system with the potential to revolutionise the industry, SpaceClaim is it. " SpaceClaim is a product development application - just as Pro/E, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, etc are, but with a few core differences and these relate to the history-based modelling approach that underlies almost every other 3D modelling application currently available.
The cross section to the casting is being edited in Cross Section mode.
